It happened recently in Kuala Lumpur and reported by media that as many as 20 peoples (both male/female) visited a massage parlour has been infected with MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus).
MRSA is highly contagious bacteria that causes infections in different parts of the body… most often, it causes mild infections on the skin, like sores or boils. But it can also cause more serious skin infections or infect surgical wounds, the bloodstream, the lungs, or the urinary tract…all begins as a small skin infection, but can spread quickly and if left untreated, can progress into a more serious condition that can affect other parts of the body.
MRSA can be transmitted through an infected wound, by sharing personal items such as towels or razors, that have touched infected skin. The risk is higher when a person is in activities or places that involve crowding, skin-to-skin contact, and shared equipment or supplies.
