The CALORIE is a unit of ENERGY. In nutrition and food science, the term calorie and the symbol cal were used. It is generally used in publications and package labels to express the energy value of foods in per serving or per weight, recommended dietary calorie intake.

The Health Ministry (MOH) through the Nutrition Division will implement a food calorie labelling pilot project in restaurants and cafeterias in 2023 to assess the feasibility of a menu labelling policy in Malaysia.

MyChoice Programme is an initiative to encourage food services industry to provide healthier meals and enable Malaysians to make healthier dining choices easily. Foods and beverages may carry the logo if they meet the nutrient criteria specified by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. This will empower the individual to make informed food choices.
